YOUR HEALTHFall Prevention
In Canada, 20-30% of older adults experience a fall each year (PHO, 2022). Falls pose a serious health risk, and for some older adults they can lead to a decline in overall health. In Ontario, falls account for over 80% of injury-related hospitalizations in adults 75 and older (PHO, 2022). As you age, it is important to prevent falls by building strength, maintaining your balance, and enhancing your mobility. Taking action to prevent yourself from falling is important to keep you safe, mobile, and independent!
